Day 2 - Velocity verses acceleration
This last week you discussed velocity and acceleration. What's the difference between the 2 terms. Add an example?
velocity is speed in a given direction while acceleration is the rate at which velocity changes velocity- 55mi/hr north acceleration- from 0 to 55mi/hr in 10 seconds
Acceleration describes how the velocity is changing. Velocity describes how fast an object is moving. (Average acceleration = change in velocity / time taken)
Acceleration is the speed that an object acquires when starting to move and velocity is the force pushing through gravity when the object is already moving!
Velocity is the speed in a given direction. For example, a car is traveling 50 mi/h south. Acceleration is the rate at which the velocity is changing. For example, a car can go from zero to 55mi/h in 10 seconds.
