What Floats your Boat?
Wednesday, you did a simple lab where you had to make a chunk of clay float. Briefly respond to the following questions on your blog:
- What happened when the clay was initially dropped in the water?
- What data did you collect?
- How were you able to make the clay float?
- How do the data support why your boat floated?
- Whose principal did you demonstrate?
Next you will try some interactive sights related to buoyancy. Try these out and also post a link to them on your blog & rate each 1-5 stars.
Watch the Videos & make a link with comments on your blog.

Tide & Gravity Lab - Critical Speed

This is a set of four labs that teach the basic concepts of gravitational force, and how it relates to tides on the Earth. Today you will be completing the Critical Speed activity. Watch what happens as your spaceship approaches a neutron star! And learn about how planets and satellites stay in orbit.
Respond to the questions and post answers on your personal blog.
-
What is the speed the earth needs to achieve circular orbit around the sun? (critical speed)
-
What happens to the earth when the speed is greater than its critical speed?
-
What happens to the earth when the speed is less than its critical speed?
